GRATITUDE.

In 2014, Fashion Art Fusion (fashionartfusionng) which has morphed into Wear Nigeria (wearnigeria_), from a one day fashion event to a 3 day fashion festival was founded. Then, our textiles, A*o-Oke, Akwete, Akwocha, Igbulu etc. were worn only to life cycle ceremonies. Few people had them in their wardrobes.

I felt so fulfilled in Manchester two weeks ago at the global acceptance of our work and our textile tradition. It was so heartwarming to see, that as a fashion designer, Luzol, who worked with Nigerian local textiles and advocated for it's use by founding Fashion Art Fusion when it was not popular to do so could not only witnes but also be part of this acceptance.

3rd to 5th of December 2026 is our annual Wear Nigeria Fashion and Textile Festival, happening at Alliance Française de Lagos Ikoyi and The Grand Ballroom, Oriental Hotel Victoria Island Lagos.

Wear Nigeria, which is a fashion runway, exhibition and textile advocacy festival, welcomes strategic partnerships with organizations and individuals committed to driving economic and cultural impact. The festival serves as a dynamic platform, bringing together designers and exhibitors from Nigeria and across Africa. By collaborating with us, partners support the promotion of traditional Nigerian/African textiles and contribute directly to the empowerment of local artisans, producers, and designers.

A very interesting, educative meeting and conversation with the master himself, Moroccan born and long time bespoke manager and partner of Ozwald Boateng, Kalid Fakhour.

Ozwald Boateng OBE, is the first blackman and only blackman to own a shop and one of the largest too, in Saville Row. Saville Row in Mayfair London is the global epicentre of bespoke tailoring and suit making, and renowned for traditional craftsmanship.
