What Happened?
A female EOCO officer approached the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South and private legal practitioner, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, right after he completed court proceedings for a client.
The officer insisted that he accompany her to the EOCO offices. When the MP questioned if she had an arrest warrant, things escalated into a heated altercation. The MP subsequently managed to board his car and drive away.
Perspective: Critics of the MP (The "Bully" Allegation) Many social media users and commentators argue that the MP and his entourage bullied and intimidated the female EOCO official.
Physical Confrontation: Video clips from the scene show the MP pushing the female officer away as his security and team heckled and manhandled her while she attempted to carry out her lawful duties.
Disregard for State Security: Corporate affairs observers and public comments point out that the MPโs driver nearly hit the officer while driving off. Critics maintain that the MP used his high political status to evade accountability and bully a state official who was acting on orders.
