I don't think we talk enough about this when helping clients source fabrics.

Sometimes, the colour you see on your phone is not exactly what you'll see in person.

I experienced this firsthand while sourcing a particular fabric recently. One fabric showed different shades depending on where I stood.

So, if you're a client and your designer says, “Please don't rely solely on the picture; let's confirm the colour in person,”... this is one of the reasons.

And if you're a designer, I think part of our job is also to educate our clients about these little things.

It saves everyone from unnecessary surprises.
