Scissors ✂️ don’t forgive!

Thank God for whoever pioneered modern pattern drafting in fashion without it, the mistakes I made while cutting this morning would have cost me far more than just time.
I’d probably be calling my client to order new fabric by now you know what that means.

Pattern drafting really is the quiet hero of the fashion industry; it saves creativity from turning into expensive regret.

In the end, it wasn’t just about fabric, it was about realizing we’ve all made cuts we wish we could undo.

The invite said “dress to impress,” and her closet said “do your best.”
No designer tags.
No latest drops.
Nothing from VeekeeJames or Prudential. Just a simple black dress she’d worn before twice and a blazer she thrifted and tailored herself after watching late-night tutorials.
She stood in front of the mirror wondering if people would notice.
They did.
Not because it screamed luxury.
But because it fit her — her story, her body, her confidence.
Someone eventually asked, “Who’s the designer?”
She paused and said, Honestly? Me.
And a little bit of YouTube.
The room laughed.
