Embracing My Roots 🤎

Over the past year, I’ve felt a deeper need to embrace my roots and share them with pride. This picture means a lot to me—it was taken by a customer who asked to see me in a saree. At first, I hesitated, unsure if I could pull it off. But then I thought, why not? Though it was challenging wearing it on jeans as a base 😆

Wearing it felt like stepping into a part of myself. It reminded me of the beauty in honoring where we come from. Seeing how seamlessly our Waste to Wonder creations paired with this timeless versatile textile (Saree) made the moment even more special. 🥰

Redefining Traditions 🤎

Growing up, Diwali meant the excitement of new clothes, a ritual that always felt special. But since 2019, I've been on my own journey that aligns with my values and that of Fifth Origins '.🫶🏾

So , for 5 years, I have worn products that are hand me downs or made from recycled materials. This Diwali, my outfit, carries stories of love and togetherness:
1. My mother’s treasured saree,
2. A Fifth Origins jacket crafted from old brocade,
3. A bag woven from discarded sarees, and
4. Jewelry shaped from recycled brass.

Each piece speaks of a rebirth, honoring the past while embracing a future I believe in. Swipe to see how traditions can evolve to hold deeper meaning.

Crafted for someone truly extraordinary, our Waste to Wonder jacket is more than just a jacket—it's a story woven with love. ✨

You already know we use old sarees for our jackets, but for this beauty, we searched for vintage brocade, each thread holding memories of its past life, to create something timeless and full of meaning for that special someone ❤️

While we can't share who this special piece is for yet, it reminds us that beauty lies in reinvention, in giving new life to the forgotten.

Mukund, our dear (and might I add, super talented) master tailor, truly inspired us with his spirit of 'I want to do it because it's my dream.' He stepped in as a model for our shoot and absolutely rocked it! It's moments like these that remind us of the freedom we all owe to our dreams.🫶🏾

I LOVE ME (series) I'm spinning a new tale—quite literally! 💖 Loving yourself means nurturing your soul with new experiences, right? In August, I seized an opportunity to learn from the experts how to spin yarn in preparation for weaving. Though my attempt was far from successful, and I have a long way to go, I realized the importance of embracing new challenges. 👊🏽 It's a beautiful way to nurture the most important relationship of all—our relationship with ourselves. 🫶🏾

The story of Fifth Origins begins and continues with the remarkable combination of beauty and sustainability. Our first attempt at this mission allowed us to form an eco-friendly brand co-founded by Sindhu Holla. Then, we saw a need for a similar idea at a larger scale. From the remotest villages across the globe to your front door, Fifth Origins strives to make every step of the value chain sustainable & ethical. We don’t promise perfection, but we do promise integrity. And we hope our products make you feel beautiful, conscious and resilient all at the same time.

The “Fifth” in our name stems from the idea that we are aiming to move toward a fifth dimension. One where we think about how we impact the universe around us and vise versa. That we are striving to be more at one with the planet and its offerings. According to ascension teachings, the Earth and all its beings are in the process of shifting into a whole new level of reality in which a consciousness of love, compassion, peace and spiritual wisdom prevails. We aim to inspire joy in choosing something that is not only beautiful on the outside but makes you truly happy from within. Not to mention, quality is of utmost importance to us - hence Fifth representing that we offer you the best finished products.

“Origins” simply denotes our plans to go back to how products were originally made. To revisit our innate desires of being around what is essential, away from clutter. Origins means going back to our roots to what is natural and earthly. To using tools and skills that we’ve known about but have somehow ignored for the sake of faster production. Origins means using what has worked for centuries and using todays innovative methods to build something that will last longer.

With Fifth Origins, we hope to create a new beginning by looking at things holistically, being aware of the people and planet all while making beautiful products.
