The most cozy item in the collection 🥰 just got all the fabrics so Hazel is no longer a pre order. Obviously it still takes a bit of time to sew, but you won’t be waiting for more than the 7 working days. Also it’s reversible. What do you think? 😊

Yay to 5000 followers! This was a really big goal of mine, now let’s do 10K 😂

Instead of a giveaway, I wanted everyone to be a little bit happy and be able to get something they might have been eyeing for a while. Those that have been here for longer know I don’t give discounts very often :)

Ofcourse it’s ‘only 15%’ but that is still something! With handmade items I can’t just give 50% off like most stores. And also when did this become normal?

Side note: can’t decide if I want to sell these bags, made by myself or made in India. In the latter I need to buy 50-100 pieces and that just feels so risky. But they would be a bit cheaper. When I make them myself it is nice to be able to control the quality and style more, and also I still have about 50 of these zippers 🤓

Francesca Dress is now up for pre-order ❤️ I said it would be yesterday but I just had a fun day with my family :) Hope you will all love this dress as much as I do, it’s one of my favorite things I’ve created for Mipi so far. Really poured my heart and soul into this piece.

I really love having a business where I get to share my creations, however one thing I could do without is puting a price on those creations. I cannot tell you how much I hate it and how difficult I personally find it to be.

Most of us have probably seen at least 1 cute real about pricing handmade goods where the general message is: ‘if you think the price is too high, it is not in your budget and that’s okay’. But this is so much easier said than done!

I constantly worry about wether my prices are too high, or too low. If what I am doing is right. Sometimes I receive messages of people asking for a discount, which I understand. And I think this all comes down to fast fashion and the underlying issue of how we all undervalue the products that we buy and the hands that made them.

Slow fashion then enters and seems like a wonderful solution to all our problems. But it really is not that simple. Because how can small businesses compete with them?

I also want to touch on the topic of affordability. I really care about my customers and just want to make everybody happy and I want everybody to be able to afford my products. But this has come at my own cost. Ofcourse you have all noticed that prices are rising everywhere and the wages have *practically* stayed the same. This is all just adding fire to the fuel of small businesses and pricing.

One thing that I like about Mipi is that this is not only a place to share my creations, but also a place to share behind the scenes. I want to share the beautiful and the ugly side of all of this. And also it’s just a one-women-show over here and I have feelings 🥴

Anyways, I’ve started capturing some of my days on video and will upload them to youtube eventually. For anyone that would enjoy/learn from my experience.

The new Willa gilet🐑. Let me tell you a bit about her :) She is soft and contains 20% wool. The rest is polyester & acrylic, which is very controversial 😋 In knitwear, acrylic can make the item last longer, reduce pilling, and feel much softer on the skin. The downside ofcourse is that it’s not very breathable as wool is for example, but I think as a blend these fabrics work well together. This fabric is also oeko-tex certified (sustainably produced). This fabric, being a blend, also means it cannot biodegrade. However, most garments cannot biodegrade because of the polyester threads, labels, buttons, hardware and so on! Anyways what I wanted to say with this perhaps boring story: is that something can never be truly 100% sustainable. This is also why i’m quite careful with using the term, because what is sustainability?

Leather Bags now online 💛 I don’t know if I will be doing these kinds of collections more often, and that’s okay. I really want to start focussing more on making clothing since this is where my passion is the most. But at the same time most people seem to be more interested in my accessories 😋 Also still looking for an atelier space which will help me sooo so much, just gotta keep searching! 🤞🏻

The Mabel Bum Bag: where it all started ❤️ Honestly the end of an era it feels like. But in order to keep things unique over here this will be the FINAL round. The pre-order is now on the website, untill august 14th. This means you still have a week to think about it 😊 Expected to ship in the first week of september but hopefully much sooner if I can get different zippers or a new supplier :)
