Dear Ghent,
I’ve made the difficult decision to close the doors of our Ghent store by the end of August this year.
Our Amsterdam store will remain open, but Ghent, where it all began, is where we’re saying goodbye.
This wasn’t an easy decision. The past year asked more of me than I ever expected. Around the time we opened our Amsterdam store, I moved there with my boyfriend, and shortly after, my dad became very ill. Trying to give both stores the attention and care they deserved became increasingly difficult, while my head and heart were somewhere else entirely.
My teams in both Ghent and Amsterdam carried me through that period, and I’m endlessly grateful for them. But I also felt that I could no longer give Just Waldo the attention it deserves. The quality and experience I’ve always wanted to offer started slipping in a way I couldn’t accept. In April, my dad passed away.
