Today I am again exploring the beauty of the Nine Streets. Filled with narrow streets and canals, this area of Amsterdam boasts a multitude of vintage shops, quaint art galleries and beautiful bars and restaurants. I am sporting my urban ECCO Exostrike sneakers for today’s adventures, which are ideal for city walking with their rugged rubber outsole – adding excellent grip when walking over Amsterdam’s slippery cobblestones.

I pick up a Soy Latte at Kaldi Caffe, a small, local café making some of the best hot beverage around. The smell of ground coffee beans wafts through the room and the passion is immediately apparent. The sleek wooden interior is in keeping with the coziness of the Nine Streets and the baristas are kind and knowledgeable. I take my drink to go, eager to continue exploring the neighbourhood.

Taking my cup between my hands, I walk across the bridges to explore the intricacies of the interlocking canals on the route. A group of tourists on a canal cruise pass by and I give them a wave, almost dropping my drink in the process. It sloshes against the beaker and spills slightly on my shoes. I am glad to have some ECCO Shoe Wipes in my bag and quickly clean it up before the stain sets. I double check the lid on my coffee and continue with my morning.

Today is a busy day with a lot of errands to complete. I slip on
my ECCO ATH-1FM sneakers, pleased with the elastic lacing and sporty design - perfect when in a rush. Hoping on my bike, my senses are overwhelmed as I cycle through the city this morning. Bikes whizz by in all directions, there are gulls cawing at the canalside and the smell of fresh bread lingers in the air. My stomach rumbles and I know exactly where to go for a quick bite.

I am one of the first in line at , a local bakery on Wolvenstraat where I frequently go for my gluten fix.
Ordering a fresh baguette for now as well as a cinnamon bun for a later mid-morning snack, this day is getting off to the right start. I pull apart the bread and devour it quickly, crumbs rolling down my top/coat.

Kicking up the stand of my bike, I'm ready to continue with my day in my lightweight ECCO sneakers. The boost of energy from the sole is a great addition to my busy schedule and I will have my errands completed in no time.

The rain is heavy in Amsterdam today. After forgetting my umbrella, I am travelling by metro, and arrive quickly at Rokin to explore the Spui in my waterproof ECCO Multi-Vent sneakers. The added comfort of this style’s cushioning make these the ideal companion here.

With the rain battering against my coat, I duck into to let the worst of it pass. After drying off, I take a walk around the store, running my hands against the new arrivals. The selection of international art and fashion magazines are incredible. I picked up the latest issue of the gentlewomen magazine.

As the worst of the rain has passed, I am ready to head back out into the sunshine. I pull my coat close to me against the breeze and feel the gentle warmth of the sun against my face. I am thankful to have chosen my Goretex ECCO Multi-Vent sneakers today. I do not have to worry about stepping into puddles or cyclists splashing water as I make my way out into the city again……
