As a Certified B Corp™ our mission at Cortazu is simple; to create lasting experiences whilst re-greening our planet. Specifically, we aim to inspire 50,000 people to enjoy the outdoors and re-green 10 Million square metres of land by 2025. We want to facilitate enthusiasm for adventurers with a passion for the sustainability of our planet. To briefly introduce ourselves, we are passionate skiers

with an extensive background in clothing production, fashion, and entrepreneurship. We started out with one goal: to create premium sustainable clothing at unprecedented value. As it turned out, a lot of people were looking for an outdoor brand that does things a little differently. Within the first two years our products were delivered to over 60 countries. As a result, our technical clothing has been worn in environments such as the Himalayas and the Rocky Mountains, but also in cities such as New York and Tokyo. Since the creation of Cortazu in 2017, we have quickly grown and are now a humble team of ~10 people headquartered in the bustling central European hub of Amsterdam.

As 2022 comes to a close and the holidays have served us well, we wanted to take a moment to reflect and thank our ever so loyal and warm community.

Soul Mountain is a project that blends music and mountaineering together, two disciplines that at first sight may not seem related at all. However, this is not the case for jordi_mestre_lopez who has always seen a deep connection between the two, creating his most personal project to date thanks to this idea. The search for a way to unite these two passions is what brought this Lleida-based musician to create a project that would allow him to play and record his compositions on top of his favourite summits in the Pyrenees.

Ski & snowboarding season is upon us. We challenge you to get out there and ride the slopes 🏔️

The Cortazu Journey

Just like the adventurers and explorers we supply our jackets with, we too have gone on a journey.

This is a story of three amigos: Wiebe, Wouter, & Herman. Three amigos with a vision and tons of friends a long the way. That’s Cortazu! That’s us!

To see this vision become a reality, we began as a simple Kickstarter campaign in 2017. We called our campaign “Cortazu: High-Performance Outerwear at a Revolutionary Price.”

Though we knew in our hearts that we were creating something righteous, we weren’t sure if others would see it this way. It isn’t always easy to take such a passionate step. However, our worries never saw fruition. We took off more than we could ever imagine. Our Kickstarter campaign ended with more €237.227,00 raised from 692 backers. People loved us! And we, without a doubt, loved them for all their support.
