Let me tell you a story about how Hype Amsterdam was born. I had an old jacket in my closet. I bought it 10 years ago, but I wasn’t wearing it anymore, so it was just lying there and keeping old good memories with it. That jacket gave me so many nostalgic feelings – I was wearing it on my summer vacations, when I was going out with my friends in the crazy streets of Amsterdam and when I met that s
pecial guy…
However one day I’ve put it into my closet and didn’t take it out for a long time. I felt like my personality changed throughout the time and even though that jean jacket was holding so many warm flashbacks, it didn’t represent who I was anymore.
10 years passed from the day when I bought it… I have evolved so much as a person, I became more outspoken, more creative, just more out there. I didn’t want to wear a plain jean jacket anymore. That’s when I have decided to take that old jacket out of the closet and bring it back to life. I took some colorful paint and unleashed my creativity. My jacket was “born again” and I have received so many compliments about it. That inspired me to create unique upcycled clothes for the others as well.
