Covert Coat

covert coat or Crombie coat is a gentleman's overcoat typically with notched lapels which originated in the late 19th century as a "short topcoat" to be worn for hunting and horse riding.

Since the 20th century, after the introduction of the suit for everyday use in town as opposed to the frock coat and the morning dress, the covert coat is used as a shorter, more informal topcoat option to the longer knee-length Chesterfield coat traditionally associated with formal wear.

Selling original menswear from the 20th century has been the best education in menswear I could have ever given myself.

Recreating iconic menswear silhouettes for the male physique is the service I offer through the shop.

Here I have revised a 1950's leisure suit. Ofcourse I could not ignore the 1980's where this silhouette returned. Lighter fabrics created a style that really added to the leisure experience. Today I have added another layer on top of that.

Here we are 75 years of menswear later..

There are 4 suits in this superlight 100% virgin wool left. The shape is now embedded in the Tommy Page home collection. Other styles will follow.
