Since 2012, Päälä produces durable and eco-friendly handprinted T-shirts for women and men. We use high quality sustainable materials such as linen, Tencel™, EcoVero, organic cotton and bamboo. Our atelier was the first GOTS-certified atelier in the Netherlands, which ensures the low environmental impact of our products. Päälä prints are designed and produced in our atelier in Amsterdam. It all st

arted with the idea of using a Tee as a canvas. Why only create artworks for your wall? We make every Päälä Tee a little art piece of it's own. We design and screenprint all T-shirts by hand with a small team of artists. For printing we use waterbased inks. These inks are free from harmful chemicals and create a subtle soft print. The expert knowledge in screenprinting results in a timeless print that will last for years. Päälä offers contemporary products with a creative approach. Personal products characterized by the original and recognizable print with a soft fabric feel. T-shirts that stand out, but also fit with the rest of your wardrobe. Love,

Suprise! This organic cotton sweater has a little detail on the front, but a huge print on the back. These ‘Scraped Mountains’ were shaped -or scraped- with a wooden stick and acrylic paint on paper. We’ve printed it with a fat waterbased ink. What do you think of backprints? Should make more of them?

Collection Fall 2022 now in store!
‘Strolling in velveteen forest’⁠. A collection inspired by walking over blankets of moss. Noticing the hues of fall on hazy days. Listening to the sounds of birds, holding someone’s hands. This daisy print was made out of all little cut out pieces of paper! It took us a while to get all the little petals in place. No sneezing was allowed! ⁠

This photo from the book 'On Flowers' by was one of the sources of inspiration for this years spring collection. We tried to remake the bookcover photo with a lot of paper-cut-outs (swipe to see the result in color on picture 4). From that point we created flowerprints and scribbly line flowers.
