Almost time to say goodbye.

Dear friends and customers. After 6 years of running the Re-Bell shop, we have decided it is time for change.
We are so grateful for the times we spend here on the Czaar Peterstraat. Developing ourselves, making new connections, and creating so many beautiful pieces of wearable art. Re-bell shop has not only been our sanctuary, but a creative hub for many like minded people. It was and still is a place where we feel home.

Maintaining this homebase however comes with responsibilities and rising costs. To keep the store alive and kicking, our focus would have to shift towards more sales, online and offline. That however is not, and has never been our drive. From our perspective there already is too much production in the world. Our objective has been to create awareness in fashion and to create a platform where likeminded designers and sustainable funky fashionista’s can find each other. To create, repair and inspire. So in stead of commercialising we chose to internalise. To go inwards and focus on our own development.

It is time for a new era. An era that is more about sharing knowledge and creating what we want to create, instead of creating what puts food on the plate.
So we decided to close the shop, and open our minds. To create more space for the unknown, for spontaneity and for new adventures.

The countdown has begun. Only three months left. The first of February we shut the door of our dear Re-Bell Shop, and open doors toward unexplored territory. We will share our plans as soon as we can. Until that time, we hope to see all of your familiar and unfamiliar faces in the shop. To support us towards the end, ánd our new beginnings. Thanks for all the love and support. See you soon!

Sophie from silentwave.indigo is a true fashion artist.
From her original designs to her upcycled work, the passion she has for denim shines through any and every product she brings to the market. From adding gorgeous embroidery to a used denim jacket, mending a pair of jeans with sashiko stitchwork to making a stunning bag from used denim goods by hand, her work is definitely something else. Her values allign very well with ours and that's why we're happy to be a retailer for her brand.

The slow fashion movement is a broad movement and as such has many facets. Mending clothes, buying second hand or ethically sourced goods, upcycling materials or straight up making your own clothes from scratch. There are many ways to embrace this movement and there are many levels to it. It is a journey and all it takes is for you to set the intention to start going up this path.

Having a studio shop, our role is a little bit bigger in this dynamic. One of the ways we honour the slow fashion philosophy is by making timeless garments. Pieces that can be worn time and again independent of any trend going on.
Our patchwork denim collection is made with recycled fabric and is designed to last. Every piece is unique and they combine with your outfit just as well, if not better, as any other pair of jeans. And they fit even more comfortable. For any season, for any year.

Mending a piece of clothing is so much more than just stitching a hole on a torn knee of some jeans. It is an opportunity to enrich the item, to embrace the inevitable breakdown of your garment.
Instead of making the repair as invisible as possible, why not highlight the fact that you're choosing a sustainable way by extending the life of your garment.
Among other techniques, the traditional Japanese Sashiko stitching is a huge inspiration for us (as seen in the second picture).

We just absolutely love our patchwork track pants line. With three or four colors and the random sewing lines they are real eyecatchers. Not to mention how unbelievably comfy they are!
The first two are size S, second two are size M and the last one is size L and they go for €149,95. They'll last for years!

At Re-Bell we're all about patches. Patching up old clothes, patchwork designs (clothing and interior), and patches like these to be sewn onto your next favorite garment!
While the designs are fixed, the patches will always be unique because they are made with the fabric that's available at the moment.
