Going on a ROAD TRIP with your BABY or TODDLER? 🚗👶🏽
A long car journey with a baby or toddler can feel stressful… but with a little preparation, it can be much easier for everyone.
Save this post for your next holiday! ☀️
Naps 😴
If possible, leave around nap time or bedtime. A sleeping child makes the journey a lot more relaxing for everyone.
Breaks 🚗
Try to stop every 1.5 to 2 hours. Your little one can stretch, have a snack, get a clean diaper and burn off some energy.
Essentials 🎒
Pack diapers, wipes, extra clothes, snacks, bottles and favorite toys where you can easily grab them.
New entertainment ✨
Don’t just pack your child’s favorite toys. Bring a few toys they haven’t seen in a while or something new to discover. The novelty often keeps them entertained for much longer.
Mix it up with books, coloring activities, audiobooks and a variety of small toys. The more options you have, the easier it is to keep boredom at bay during a long car ride.
Clothes 👕
Choose soft, breathable clothing and dress in layers. Cars can get warmer or cooler than expected during the trip.
Pack an emergency bag 🧸
Aside from an extra outfit, wipes, snacks, water and medication, don’t forget to pack an extra pacifier or stuffed animal in case it goes missing.
EXTRA TIP 💡
Pack a water-resistant changing mat that you can use anywhere. It’s not just handy for diaper changes on the go. It also doubles as a clean spot for your toddler to sit, snack or play during breaks, even when the ground is a little wet.
One last tip ✨
Don’t focus on arriving as quickly as possible. Focus on making the journey comfortable and fun for everyone. A few extra stops are often worth it for a happier baby, toddler and parent ❤️
