We have long considered and weighed on writing and sending this email to you. How to word it? How to share with you the pro's and con's of this decision? On the one hand it signifies a difficult farewell on the other hand it brings new beginnings.

At the end of 2019, Mick and I (Myrthe) decided to close Amsterdam Selection down at the end of the summer of 2020. This was a tough decision, because we have invested deeply in our webshop aside from the passion and creativity we poured into it. Looking back on our goal - adding more color to women's wardrobes - we are quite proud at our achievements. What started as a small webshop of merely skirts from ZAND Amsterdam in 2007 has grown into a colorful webshop run by the two of us with a great collection of solid brands.

Why stop? We have asked ourselves this question many times. The answer is surprisingly simple. We are ready for a new challenge and we believe you should always follow your heart. Mick is originally a software developer and has been itching to pick up his old profession. He found a new position as a developer / bug master at Local Heroes (http://www.localheroesonline.com/) and he has seized this opportunity with both hands. I (Myrthe) have started working as a growth hacker and will apply my online marketing skills for Grapedistrict (https://www.grapedistrict.nl/). Selling special wines online.

Another important reason is our son Felix joined the club in 2016. Next up was our daughter Lilly June born in 2019. Our children have turned our lives upside down; though they have brought many positives (and some negatives too!). Entrepreneurship has many advantages but it also involves a lot of hard work and it can involve uncertainty in terms of income. This doesn't combine well with a young family. And when the Corona crisis hit, we were sure we had made the right decision to call it a day.

When do we close down? You can continue shopping with us until Sunday September 20th 2020.

Want to help us? Closing down your business is not something you do overnight. We have therefore decided to give ourselves time until the end of summer 2020. The Corona crisis stalled our online sales for a while. Which is completely understandable of course, because everyone had something else on their mind. Fortunately, sales have picked up again in May, but we still have quite a way to go!

You can help us out by shopping with major discounts! Today we started with our HAPPILY EVER AFTER SALE with high discounts on everything. One exception remains, the La Pintura cowboy boots.
