Visited Modefabriek, the largest fashion trade event in the Benelux.
Hundreds of brands. New collections. Big energy.
And yet, so much of what’s presented feels familiar.
Similar silhouettes. Heavy use of synthetics. Production largely outsourced to Asia.
Very little focus on sustainability, longevity, or craftsmanship.
It was valuable to see what the industry is celebrating right now,
and even more clarifying to see what still feels missing.
Sometimes contrast is the best confirmation of your direction.
