This winter is particularly cold in Mongolia with temperatures reaching -50°C (-58°F) and around 233,000 animals have died since the beginning of the year. For nomad herders, losing their animals means losing their livelihoods and sometimes the main reason to leave their nomadic lifestyle and move into the cities. We hope the rest of the winter gets a bit milder and that spring comes fast.

Yaks are majestic but friendly animals that live in mountainous regions and grow thick warm fur to survive the extreme winters of Mongolia.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They usually have brown, and dark chocolate coat, and few in grey. Yak wool is almost as soft as cashmere but warmer. We’re adding more yak wool items every year because it’s sustainable, warm and luxurious and we just love these hairy yaks!
