Hi, it's me, Garrincha. I wanted to write a short story about my trip to Australia and what it means to me.

A lot of people know I never wanted to become a hairdresser, but my lovely mom forced me into it 12 years ago. We all know by now that mother knows best—love you, Mom. I can't imagine myself doing anything other than hair. I've come a long way from being an inexperienced hairdresser to the person I am today.

People tried to put me down, telling me I couldn't do it—calling me a one-trick pony or saying I was bad at hair coloring and shouldn't be allowed to do it anymore. But here I am in Australia, achieving the goals I’ve worked hard for and believing in myself.

EVO invited me to come over to Adelaide to attend their "creative training." It has always been a dream of mine to fly to Australia for EVO, as it’s been my #1 brand EVER. It makes me emotional knowing I’m here, and I feel like this is just the beginning of many more amazing adventures in my career. I’m SUPER excited about what my future holds, but I’m confident it’s going to be good.
