My final quirk before our little break...

These lancet style windows were found in my mother in law's barn. They had been removed from a church during renovation works in Stavanger centre in the 70's, and had been stored away in a dusty corner ever since.

Several layers of paint were hiding this stunning antique wood, so I carefully stripped them and treated them to preserve them for another hundred years!

I added some intricate digital artwork on the subject of Religion and replaced the cracked old glass.

I also have the outer frames which I will be making into large stained glass clocks in the spring.

I'll see you in a few weeks folks....

As ever please spread the word, and stay classy!

The second unit in the Reolseksjon was dealt with in much the same way as Jane, below.

This time I converted the teak piece to an uber-cool drinks cabinet, added a set of steel hairpin legs, and made a thought provoking graphic on the front to get the conversation going once the drinks are opened.

This is the first of two units that were made from a revived 1960's teak Reolseksjon.

I cut the back flush, made a new backing plate, trimmed the shelving, added a spring magnet latch, stripped of the old varnish, and designed a Vinyl graphic surreal desert scene featuring Jane Russel.... and in this example, I carried out an extensive repair on a excellent set of solid teak legs I found in a thrift shop... finally the whole thing was fine sanded and treated with a lovely rich danish oil.

I think the work was worth it. She is definitely one of my favourite Quirks so far!

My oh my, was this amazing mid century Scandinavian vanity wall unit in a sorry state when I found her! She had been neglected for far too long and needed some substantial work to revive her inner beauty...

Originally in teak veneer, but had risen badly on the sides, so after some time trying to repair what was there and eventually giving up, I decided to rebuild the sides in solid white antique oak.

Good old Audrey Hepburn volunteered to finish the drawer face, and the brass fittings were acid treated to bring them back to their former glory.

I think she is stunning. Hope you do too!

This 1950's teak unit was found in a barn near Egersund. A lovely old fella called Tor showed me round, and I happily picked up a few other things that I'll be working on very soon.

It was covered in a thick epoxy resin, which had protected completely from the elements and preserved the teak veneer brilliantly, but it also looked pretty horrid to my eye, so I stripped it down to bear wood, and Danish Oiled it back to life. It came out fantastic!

I added a huge vinyl print to the back and drawers, and sourced some brilliant k***s....

I've named it Shaun :-)

Hope up you like it!
