Danfe is a Social Enterprise of SAATH (www.saath.org.np) designed for girls affected by the earthquake in Nepal in 2015. We make our products locally stitched by our own beneficiaries who come from Sindhupalchowk, Rasuwa, Kavre and Makwanpur. Like the bird Danfe, our project envisions to instil more dimension in the lives of individual we work with and for. The different color symbolizes people from different background, ethnicity and culture coming together as one.

Behind every Mithila artwork is an artist, a journey, and a story. ❤️

Meet Puja Thakur, a 22-year-old Production Artist from Janakpurdham, Dhanusha. What began with a simple curiosity about the Mithila paintings she grew up seeing around her has grown into a journey of learning, creativity, confidence, and independence.
After six months of training, Puja turned her passion into a profession—mastering intricate sketches, outlines, colours, patterns, and the patience that Mithila art demands.

For her, Mithila art is more than painting. It is culture, tradition, identity, and opportunity.
Today, through every artwork she creates, Puja is not only building her future but also helping preserve a beautiful heritage for generations to come.
Her three words for Mithila art: Opportunity. Growth. Skill. 🌿
