Our Story

Higher Ground Crafts, a social enterprise was started in 2006 with a vision to share god’s love to the disadvantaged group in the society. The enterprise focuses on uplifting women “at risk”, many of whom are economically marginalized, vulnerable, illiterate and turn to human-trafficking and sex-trafficking in an attempt to support their families. Higher Ground Crafts creates beauty out of pieces in the form of hand-made jewelleries, bags and accessories. We guide them towards hope through job opportunities and skill trainings in beading, sewing, knitting and designing to sustain their livelihood and to live with dignity. 15 percent of the every purchased hand crafted items made by these women is further utilized in the different strata of society through non-profit organization called Higher Ground Community Development Nepal. The fund is basically provided for the various projects like; scholarship for needy children, awareness program against trafficking, micro enterprises support, advocacy and shelter networking for girls and children at risk. Higher Ground Crafts is situated at Bhanimandal, Jawalakhel of Lalitpur district in Nepal. It in-houses a craft showroom and a production house where women work in friendly environment under the care and fellowship of one-another.
