Here is a small amount of brand new sculptures ready to exhibit next week at the Tauranga art show.
I had so many new clients commission ‘bread sculptures’ so I’ve made a whole lot more, each with its own distinct difference. I will be exhibiting a large range of my signature Nz fungi/lichen, bird murmurations, Nz insects, Nz sea anemones and so much more.

Another superb piece in its new client’s home, “Flight of the Kuaka” (bar-tailed godwit) where it explores the incredible migration paths that the godwits travel each year on their epic pathway from New Zealand to Siberia.
Each bird is hand stitched, layered, moulded and pinned in place above the backing board to create depth and shadows.

A magical photo was sent to me the other day from a client in New York who commissioned a custom artwork consisting of a selection of specific species of fungi, ferns, and leaves mounted onto pins. They wanted me to recreate each piece into sculpted thread similar to its lifelike size and form.
Honoured to have this piece displayed in their home.

Another lichen covered branchlet ready for framing. Getting a whole bunch of new sculptures completed for the upcoming Tauranga art show!
This sculpture is made entirely of tiny crocheted stitches, hand stitching, machine work, & wet sculpting to create something authentic, uniquely to my taste in art, unique to the art world, and genuinely difficult to construct.

Layers and layers and hundreds of hours experimenting with many different types of crochet work, embroidery and moulding went into this sculpture, pictured here at the Auckland art show, selected for the top 10 artist’s wall. This sculpture creates intense shadows when the light moves from different angles throughout the day.
