Funny how one guitar can change everything.
This was the first guitar to find its home in Nashville 🎶🤠
What started in a small apartment in Sydney Australia and found its way back home to a small workshop in New Zealand has opened doors I could never imagined.
Sometimes you have to back yourself, even if nobody else can see the vision 💪🧐

Lets just say the next chapter might not be happening on this side of the world.......from New Zealand to Nashville 🇳🇿➡️🇺🇸

So this guitar was my first build I ever did and this song is very fitting as all my guitar models are named after my Grandad Walter, brought his first farm at 29 years old paid per acre at 1 pound 15 pence (imagine that 😅) he lived to the ripe old age of 100 years old smoked a pipe and never missed church on a sunday.....even if he wasn't supposed to be driving 😂
I tried to fix and re- glue the bridge after it lifted (hence the terrible finish on it I botched 🤦‍♂️) but we learn from our mistakes, they only make us better! It origionally had a beautiful french polish on it that a freind did for me, with that finish It made the guitar sound amazing and really brought out the beautiful tone in this monkeypod set pairing with the bearclaw spruce top and I surprised myself with how it performed as everyone says that your first ever guitar build probably wont sound very good, but I was determined to prove them wrong ,even though the combination of my guitar playing skill level and the not so flash microphone on a phone do not do it any justice 😅
It is currently in pieces so I can refresh this with the skills and knowledge I now have and start a new journey with mastering the with my new workshop in the making the french polish is what all my guitars deserve from this day on 😉

Well I thought it was about time to chuck another post up 😅
This is a wee clip from a shot I did a while back on my very first guitar build.
Now I'm definitely no singer and a very average player but this was one of the first finger picking intros I made to suit my skill level, it took hours of practice and probably 20 odd takes lol 😂
But I love this song, it has so much heart and meaning put into it by .
That is what it is all about and why we love

Well I've finally brought a house and moved to the city with the help of some bloody good friends and family and finished up with some well deserved beverages and pizza.......one of the last beers I'll have as I started a new error without alcohol 🍻
Now to get the new workshop up and running and get this latest build finished that was supposed to be done for cmcrocks2025 but
Unfortunately ran out of time so now its a special.
This guitar is a bit special as I am trying a new construction method that deletes some bracing in the top and is replaced with a triple layer between a sandwich of Australian bunya and australian Huon pine vacuume clamped together, matched with Queensland maple neck, blackwood bridge, fingerboard and trims, it also has a vacuum clamped 4 layer carbon fiber rosette inlayed with NZ paua a beautiful set of blackheart sassafras back and sides 👌 then topped off with walnut burl head plate.
UstrThis should create a lighter guitar with a bit more resonance in the top without compromising on strength!
I've always been the guy who like to think outside the box (so to speak) and always keen to try something new and different! 😏 This one wont be for sale as it is experimental and I only want the best thats tried and tested for future clients!
