And so with a heavy heart, we are in the throws of the last few weeks of trade- forever!! Sadly, we will be closing our business as we know it for good.
We have had many stores over the past 30 odd years and were in Dress Smart nationwide (Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch) for many years (we were one of the original residents of Dress Smart (in its infancy) and later went on to become Dress Smarts biggest tenant), also Fox Outlet (for those who remember that) St Lukes, Albany, Manukau, Palmerston North, Mt Wellington (in a different location) and the list goes on. We had stores called 'Kamikaze' (this was our original baby) 'Missy Jones', 'Tattoo' and 'USA Direct' We have had to roll with the changes and reinvent ourselves over the years to accommodate changes in customers wants and needs. It has been incredibly hard work, beyond belief but it has been an amazing journey and we have had a blast. We absolutely loved finding deals overseas for our loyal customers here and passing on the great prices and sometimes quite unique product than what is available in New Zealand.
We have been hugely hands on- we went to hunt out the goods ourselves- did not simply buy off a website. Therefore we could always vouch for any authenticity questions. And we had them because people could not believe that we could sell USA labels at such awesome prices.
But anybody who knows about retail will understand retail is difficult and getting harder. The prices of goods, sourcing, shipping, conversion rates, the fixed over heads, the burglaries, the expensive brick and mortar and of course it goes without saying, being locked down over and over is difficult.
So this journey as we know it is coming to an end. But I never say never, and perhaps one day we may reinvent ourselves again. Who knows?
So while we are still here, come by, get your last great deals (the prices are even more amazingly good), shoot the breeze, have a yarn, have a laugh- we can certainly do with one.
We will so, so miss so many things, and of course will miss you as without you, we had no business.
