One year. That's all it took for a pristine lake to become polluted.

For Peri, witnessing that transformation sparked a question that would help shape Untouched World for decades to come: what responsibility does business have to the places it depends on?

Today, that belief continues through partnerships like Glenthorne Station in Canterbury’s high country, where Chris and Jo Johns are taking a long-term approach to farming, balancing production with the health of the land. Native planting, waterway protection and new approaches to grazing are helping restore and strengthen the landscape for future generations. Glenthorne is also the source of the ZQ Certified Wool by Zentera Wool Company used in our knitwear - certification that continues to do better for the land, the animals and the people.

If this film leaves you with anything, we hope its a lasting impression that "business can and should do better" and that leaving things better than we found them is work worth doing.

Mimosas, good conversation, and a room full of people shaping the future of fashion in Aotearoa. That was the Metropol Magazine x CSFF panel last week.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on the morning at the beautiful Bar Franco at The Crossing for a conversation spanning sustainability, startup funding, the importance of relationships, and what it really takes to build a career in fashion.

One thing came through clearly: fashion is a people industry, and with so much talent, curiosity and intelligence coming through the next generation.

A special thank you to our wonderful panelists, including out founder Peri Drysdale, Skye Zöfia, Rosette Hailes-Paku of Awatea, Metropol editor Nina Tucker, Jemima Lewis Gourdie, and Alex O’Hagan. Together they weaved a brighter future for the industry, and our individual places in it.

And arohanui to the generous sponsors that made this event possible: Soul Studio Hot Yoga, Bonnie Skin, Sonofavicar Parfum, Manu Restaurant , Jeuneora, Untouched World and Queen Anne Chocolates.
The future feels rather bright.

Special thanks to the talented Angelica Dumaguin of Soder Media for capturing the event.

Our Auckland store takes its inspiration from the place it calls home. Newmarket was once known to Māori as Te Tī Tūtahi, referring to a lone cabbage tree that stood as a landmark for travelers through the area. That connection to place became part of the thinking behind the store, alongside a desire to celebrate natural materials and the people who work with them.

Throughout the space, you'll find timber, cloth, honeycomb, metal and bluestone from a local quarry. A woven basket by master weaver Paula Rigby sits alongside a vase made with sand from Auckland's beaches. Tōtara recovered from the Pohangina River after a major storm has been given new life as display tables. Above the store floor, Manu Aute, traditional Māori kites, bring another connection between earth and sky.

It's a space shaped by Aotearoa, its materials and its makers Gezellig Interiors. Come in for a look around, a conversation, or simply some time among the things we've made. You'll find us on Osborne Street, Newmarket.

The weekend may be over, but we’re still reflecting on the Christchurch New Zealand Fashion Week Spring Edit and Breast Cancer Cure runway.

From the models who brought each look to life, to our designers Moira and Lucinda, who considered every silhouette, shape and detail, this was a collective effort. A coming together of ideas, inspiration and the many hands that bring a collection to life.

Both runways reflected something at the heart of our process: the continual evolution of design. Refining, reimagining and finding new ways to bring our ideas to life, always with an eye on the natural world that inspires us.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on this journey. One final show, so much to reflect on, and plenty to inspire what comes next.

This Wool Month, we celebrate a material that has long been part of Aotearoa’s story. Its natural beauty, remarkable versatility and the people who continue to give it life.

A little recognition for a fiber, and a heritage, worth holding on to.
