Most parents pick baby shoes by looks alone. Here's what actually matters for healthy little feet.

When your little one is finding their feet, the right footwear makes a real difference. Swipe through for the three things we always tell parents to look for. 👣

1. Sole flexibility matters
A stiff sole restricts natural movement. Look for shoes that bend easily at the ball of the foot, mimicking how bare feet move. Rigid soles can slow muscle development in early walkers.

2. Size up, not down
Babies grow fast. If your child is between sizes, always go one size up. A slightly roomier fit is safer than a tight one, and your little one will grow into it quickly.

3. Check for non-slip grip
Smooth-soled shoes turn any floor into a slip hazard. Non-slip soles are essential for crawlers and first walkers on tiles, hardwood, and daycare mats. Check the sole texture before you buy.

The right shoe supports the journey. Soft, grippy, and well-fitted is all they need.

Our Sock Shoes tick every box: soft, flexible soles, breathable cotton, and a non-slip grip for busy little feet at home and out and about.

Tested by pēpi, approved by māmā 💛

We put our sock shoes to the test on every surface our toddlers find...

Gravel. Bark. Dirt. Pavers. Concrete. Beach. Grass. Carpet. Water. Deck. Outings.

If your pēpi walks there, we’ve got them covered. Non-slip, easy slip-on and actually stays on.

Seen in this video: Classic Black, & Cocoa Brown — all on our site.

Which surface does your pēpi find trickiest? Tell us below 👇
