Crucci was founded in Wellington, New Zealand in 1977 by four hand knitting yarn industry veterans, and continues today producing quality yarn from New Zealand and Australian wool.

Introducing Crucci Stitch & Share — and what a way to kick things off.

When the very talented knits (instagram) posted about the Sophie Scarf she'd knitted in our Aella 8 ply (Sienna), we just had to share it with you all. With a bio description that just says 'kniiiiits knits knits knits knits knits' we knew we were kindred spirits. Gillain's knitting all sorts of lovely things down in Central Otago at the moment, so go on, give her a follow and be inspired!

You may have heard that wool prices have risen significantly across New Zealand and Australia over the past year. We're really happy for our wool growers — they produce an incredible raw material and it's wonderful to see that recognised. But it does, unfortunately, have a flow-on effect on our yarn prices.

We know life is expensive at the moment and we've held our prices for as long as we possibly could, but from 1 September you'll start to see some increases across our range. Our best advice? Stock up now, not that you ever need an excuse to add another project to the shelf ;)

The silver lining is that strong global demand for natural fibres means Australasian wool - the fibre we create our yarn from - is being recognised as some of the best in the world, and that bodes well for wool and woollen yarn markets going forward.

As always, thank you for your support. We love this community, and we love making beautiful yarn for all of your incredible creations.

Introducing four new shades of Luxury Merino Crepe 8ply — Cocoa, Burgundy, Camel and Verdant. 🤎🍷🐪💚

This range is a bit of a favourite here at Crucci, so we decided to expand it — seven new colours in total, check back later today for the other three — They're so good!!

Luxury Merino Crepe 8ply is one of the softest merino yarns you'll find anywhere, and what sets it apart is the construction. By twisting the plies in opposing directions, crepe yarns develop a rounder, firmer structure than standard spun — giving your finished fabric exceptional stitch definition, a subtle natural sheen, and resilience against pilling. Cables pop, stocking stitch looks polished, and even the simplest patterns look elevated.

At DK weight on 4mm needles, it works with a huge range of patterns and suits knitters of all levels.

Have you discovered our Aella Beanie Knitting Kit? It's the perfect gift for any knitter who wants a satisfying project that doesn't take forever — and we can personally report it's passed the Saturday morning sideline test. ✅

Each kit includes a pattern and 2 balls of Aella 8ply. This one is knitted in-the-round on 3.25mm and 4mm DPNs or a long circular needle.
