So we have some news. As of Monday, Jo has listed the property and is madly decluttering and packing ready for auction. We are in the process of putting an offer in on a property that suits our needs. Unfortunately for a short period of time. Inkwell Designs will be living in a container. We will fulfill outstanding orders and only take on small orders or graphic design. All the printers will be packed up, the presses will be packed up the engravers will be packed up. Once we have our new office on site we will be back in full swing with so much more we are dreaming of. Unfortunately as much as we love our place, its far too big for our needs.

We are very lucky to have Phillipa Gill and Teela Cleghorn from Ray White Mairehau listing for us, Phillipa is a long time friend (decades), fellow rider and starving musician supporter.

THIS is cultural appropriation - and something I am not a fan of.

We often use a graphics library as we know our strengths and quite frankly, there is some beautiful work out there. This means that everything we sell we have worldwide commercial copyright license on. We love our job and we love that artists get an opportunity.
However, there is something I struggle with. I would like to do Maori prints, its part of our culture and it should be celebrated. I am not Maori, so feel my attempt would be effectively a piss-take. That's not fair on all the amazing NZ artists out there. If you want to get your art out there and earn some money on the graphics libraries - go for it. There is so much terrible appropriation going on that we need indigenous artists everywhere to submit designs so we don't get this garbage.

Every now and then I get the urge to de-clutter. I have found the most amazing fabrics, papers, haberdashery and bits and pieces that has been stashed, packed and forgotten about. So to add to everything else we do I am making up junk journal starter packs. All you need is some glue and a notebook. Included will be different types of papers, vintage bits and pieces. Ribbon, trims, some fabric, an embossed foil poem. Anything else I can fill these packs with. Only $15 plus shipping. All to get you started on your journal journey. Each pack is different and full of wonderful bits.
