Factory Production Assistant – Clicker Press Operator & Slipper Assembly
Location: Templeton, Canterbury
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm)
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Factory Assistant to join our footwear manufacturing team in Templeton. This role focuses on operating a hydraulic clicker presses( swing arm press ) to cut materials (leather, fabrics, foam, and rubber) and assembling footwear components using specialised adhesives.
Key Responsibilities
Clicker Press Operation:
Safely operate clicker press machines to die-cut footwear pattern components.
Line up cutting knives efficiently on raw materials to maximise material yield and minimise waste.
Check cut pieces for defects, grain consistency, and quality standards.
Slipper Assembly & Gluing:
Apply footwear adhesives cleanly and accurately to bond insoles, uppers, linings, and soles.
Prep and assemble slipper parts according to exact job specs.
Keep glue stations clean and monitor proper drying times.
* General Workshop Operations:
* Keep work areas clean, tidy, and organised.
* Assist with handling and moving raw material stock.

Experience: Prior factory experience, footwear manufacturing, or operating hydraulic press machinery is preferred, but full training will be provided for someone with a great attitude and good practical skills.
Physical Fitness: Comfortable standing for extended periods, carrying out repetitive manual tasks
Skills-Excellent attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and solid practical ability.
Reliability- Turn up on time, ready for a 7:00 am start, Monday to Friday.
