I couldn’t be more excited to have this stunning French Empire Sofa Droit (straight sofa) in the showroom. Early 1800’s symmetrical rectilinear shape. These pieces were designed to showcase power and wealth fitting for a Napoleon era aesthetic. The painted and gilded frame is completely original with new upholstery sensitively chosen to compliment . What a statement piece ,this is truly special .

Something on this cold and rainy day to remind you that the sun will come out (hopefully) again soon . S.O is closed for part of tomorrow for a funeral but hope to be open by 2pm and then normal hours over the weekend. Thanks for understanding. 💖

Fabulous old Singer Sewing Machine chest presumably used to pack sewing machines for importing in mid 1900’s . This one is stamped with Christchurch as the destination. Would be fabulous as a blanket box or even to store your winter logs ( and we know it’s coming🪵!)
