✨The Heart of Weaving✨ Workshop

Weaving has this inevitable delightful of connecting a women to her heart.

As she weaves she is activating the heart meridian through the fingers gliding gracefully.

The slow focused activity calms and settles the nervous system.

She drops into her depths of stillness and relaxedness.

When woman gather to weave they amplify and harmonise their true nature.

When women are in their natural state of being she is light, fluid, open and creative.

It is truly breathtaking!

That is why this is more than a weaving workshop!

You will learn how to weave a basket from plant fibres in our local environment.

Weaving is a symphony 🎇

Weaving is a beautiful meditative art form to learn. 🍃

And they way I teach Weaving is to bring in all that we are as humans hold in The Weaving ' 🙏

That's why I call my offering a Weaving Circle rather than a Weaving Class.

I make space for sharing, meditation, reflection, laughter and communing.

And in this profound space the baskets woven are filled with the delight and depth of our deeper nature. ✨

If you are called to find out more about Basketry please do reach out and join us for this Free Introductory Weaving Circle. 🙏

Weaving speaks to me of a
Way of Deepening Connection
to Earth and her
Sweet Rhythms and Harmonies.

I love to weave with fibres from the land I live on as an ongoing communion with that land.

This began in Australia and continues in New Zealand.

Its taken me two years of wandering to fully find what I can weave with.

What is strong, what is pliable, what is soft, what is dyeable.

Weaving is traceable across all lands and cultures, indigenous to everywhere.

I will be sharing my humble experience of Weaving at a Free Weaving Circle on 29 th August at Cherish Christchurch.

Please do send me a DM for more Information.

Astrologers have been talking about something rare and profoundly significant happening right now in the skies.

A Basket shaped constellation called Barbaults Basket named after Andre Barbault, has lit up the skies.

This alignment is said to be the most benefitic configurations of the century. The planetary partnership of this will work for the best in the relaunch of civilisation.

Being the Basketry lover that I am you can understand why I was listening with my whole being for the deeper meaning of this.

There is a deep knowing that lives and breathes inside of me, that basketry is more than a craft, more than and art, more than a skill.

It is possible that through Basketry one can deeply develop a consciousness of living breathing responsive intelligence, a gnosis of natures guidance.

I move in the field of this because of the way I live as a lover of Basketry.

I invite you to come along to this all inclusive weaving circle. Open to men and women, newbies and established weavers of all nationalities and lineages.

We gather to share and discover what our superpowers are as weavers!

🪡Free Weaving Circle🪡

Are you a Weaver with an established weaving practice and would love to Weave while enjoying the company of other Weavers?

Are you keen to learn to weave and would you like an opportunity to find out more about different types and styles of weaving?

We gather at Cherish, the Sanctuary in the heart of the city for this All Inclusive Weaving Circle.

I will be sharing my love of woven basketry from a Lineage of unbroken traditional wisdom gifted me from Elders in an Indigenous Australian tradition.

I have learnt to forage for weaving fibres and natural dyes using resources form the Australian land.

After moving to Christchurch I then applied these same principles to continue to develop my Basketry Artistry and deep connection to the land.

I have also studied Traditional Maori Basketry in NZ and now merge two indigenous traditions into my weaving practice and knowledge.

I will also to sharing my love of meditation and women's wisdom in this weaving circle.

Please note - There maybe some demonstrations and opportunities to ask questions, however this is not a teaching workshop.

I am so excitedly curious to open this offering up to all weavers to meet in a space of beauty and creativity.

Registration is Free and essential to help me keep in contact with everyone.

This moment where this basket found her new home was golden💛

She who sews and weaves was at a market selling lots of clothes and one basket.

She who wanted a birthday present for her best friend, saw the basket and knew that was the present she wanted to gift her.

She had a rose for her friend and the basket would carry the rose🌹

We basket lovers love to gift baskets 🎁

I have been introduced to KieKie lightly and politely.

I have played with weaving her as an experiment.

And then I met her deeply in her home soil on the West Coast, growing abundantly, prolifically, and in full splendor.

All I could do was gasp in delight to see this plant being growing so happily.

Slowly I began to build a relationship with her and to ask if I may weave a basket from her leaves.

She was delighted to be chosen.

The surprise💥
from the trip to Paparoa National Park and Punakaiki Rocks was meeting Weaving Fibres in the Wild. 🌿

The Zones of Foliage followed a pattern, wet rainforest and then closer to the ocean harakeke as far as the eye can see!

Robust, Flowering, bursting with insect and plant life 🪲.

It evoked full reverence for this treasure gifted to this land of Aotearoa🙏
