Firstly, what brought me to creating this page and why. The best place is always to ask "why"? As a young girl growing up in Tamaki Makaurau my grandmother (Nana) and my mother Robin (Robyn) use to take me to "Op Shops" and " Flea Markets". My earliest recollections were going to the Salvation Army Shop on Symonds Street, my Nana and I would catch the bus into town, Nana always on the lookout for
a bargain. My mother and Nana and sometimes Dad would wake me up in the wee small hours of the morning to head to the flea market that was held in the car park behind K Road (some of you may recall those times). When I say "wee small hours" it would be about 5.30am in the morning, I'd still be trying to wake up. I remember my Nana buying me this little black handbag, I remember it vividly, this was back in the 70s, so I'm guessing that little black bag would have had some age to her. I fell in love with that bag, hence still being able to recall it. This is probably another reason why I have an attraction towards handbags to this day. My Aunty Eva who lived in Dargaville (Takiwira) use to take me along to markets where she would have a stall. She would sell pot plants and nick naks she had, I'd find myself getting all excited at how people would purchase things off her and I'd be able to have a look around at all the other stall holders and what they were selling. During my lifetime I've always enjoyed getting something for a bargain. I've always loved popping into Op Shops, Garage Sales and Markets in the hope of finding something. Which brings me to the present day, creating a FB page, where I can share with you some "finds" and offer them up to you for sale. NOTE: The page is a work in progress at the moment, however I do hope to be uploading items for sale very soon. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
