Hi, I’m Rebecca Pearson, the owner of Red Streetwear here in Hokitika. I was born and raised on the beautiful West Coast, and after spending a few years travelling the world, and a stint (and our second baby!) in Raumati South, my husband and I came back home, to raise our family here, so they could enjoy the free and easy childhood we both had. Red Streetwear is my passion project—a store that br

ings together a mix of surf, street, and fashion brands that I love and believe in. In a small town you have to try to cover all bases for customers, so our motto is "We have something for Everyone!' It’s always been important to me to create a space that feels welcoming and friendly, and reflects the unique style and spirit of our close knit local community. Now that my daughters are grown and finding their own way in the world, I enjoy spending my time not only at the store but also out tramping, biking, travelling, watching sport, reading, and soaking up time with family and friends whenever I can. Thanks for supporting local—it genuinely means the world to me.

Jack (or Jill) of All Trades – Seasonal Retail Position

We’re looking for a Jack (or Jill) of all trades to join our team!

If you’re a hands-on, organised person who enjoys variety and can turn your hand to a bit of everything, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

We’re looking for someone with retail experience who is confident working across a range of tasks, including:

Providing friendly and helpful customer service
Loading and maintaining products in our POS system
Adding and updating products on our website
Assisting with general retail and day-to-day store duties
Creating social media content when required
Pitching in wherever needed to help keep things running smoothly
About You

You’ll ideally have:

Previous retail experience
Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems
Excellent attention to detail
A creative flair and an interest in social media
A positive, can-do attitude
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility and a willingness to tackle whatever the day brings!
The Details

Hours: Approximately 12 hours per week
Days: Hours will include weekends
Contract: Fixed-term seasonal position
Term: October 2026 – April 2027

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and wants to be part of a friendly team during our busy seasonal period.
