Back to the Wild

Back to the Wild Getting you exploring more with our natural organic outdoor skincare & gear. Safe even for our youngest explorers to keep the whānau adventuring more!
(1)

Offering skin & home products that are natural, organic where possible, and affordable. Safe for babies, great people with sensitive skin, and anyone who wants to cut down on the amount of toxins in their life! Environmentally Friendly:
Get discounts by returning your jars in a good condition - or by bringing a suitable jar in good condition also. Jars are sterilized, and then re-used. This keeps

the costs down, as new jars don't have to be purchased, and saves the jar from needing to be melted down, or going into landfill! It also saves the resources that would be used to make a new jar. Plastic is only used as a last resource when there is no other option. And in that case, recycled plastic is preferred. Natural
All ingredients used are natural. You won't find anything here that can't be pronounced, but rather things that can be sourced from the natural earth. Ingredients are organic where possible, meaning that they're organic where an organic option exists, and doesn't cost double the price of the non-organic version. This would make the cost much higher to pass on, and we find that this gives a better balance. Cost-Friendly
Most natural products are expensive. We try not to be. Our aim is to be competitive, even when compared to the standard supermarket product. This means we can have a far wider reach, into everyones household. Thus limiting the amount of plastic & toxic chemicals in the environment & in our homes, and being able to help those with sensitive skin & similar who may otherwise struggle to afford a natural alternative.

Comment BLOG and I’ll send you the FREE blog post with all the details on the hut.

Great for testing hut sleep out with a baby.
Great for a wet weather adventure.
Great as a first hut visit.
Great for a school night mission to make it back to class on time in the morning.
Great for families looking for affordable accommodation near Christchurch.

Such a great wee escape so close to the city.

Yes it can! 🙌🙌🙌

I’m not going to share the exact location of this one online as care does need to be taken, and I go into that in my digital guide to the huts of NZ with kids. Comment GUIDE if you’d like the links to that one and the books I wrote.

But you can take your kids to so many epic places! Kid-accessible doesn’t mean boring. In fact, kids usually prefer a scramble up a hill to a hut with a view over a boring flat walk.

Mt Cheeseman Ski Area skifield I’d recommend for someone looking to make the use of the parent pass, or for someone looking to learn how to ski on the rope tow. It’s a super affordable option for both.

It’s also a great option for anyone wanting to support a club skifield but not wanting to deal with nutcrackers and is part of the Chill Explore ski pass.

There is on-mountain accommodation, both a lodge at the top of the hill and a lodge halfway up. The lodge at the top unfortunately does not allow kids under 3 to stay.

The main downside is that you cannot park right outside the buildings, it’s an unload zone only. This works really great where you have two adults, but when solo with young kids is not ideal.

And remember to comment SKIFIELD for a link to the FREE blog post I wrote on all the South Island skifields with kids detailing access, facilities, and more at each field.

The secret is out!!! Seriously you need to book Hanmer Springs Ski Area for your next ski holiday. No affiliation, just honestly love this little ski area and think everyone should go support what they’re doing bringing the vibes to skiing and making it affordable for families ✨✨ ⛷️

Accommodation: $260 for 3 nights vs similar for 1 night in Queenstown.

Lift passes: $90 for parent pass vs $475 at commercial skifield. Or ski free with a Chill Explore pass here.

Fuel costs: Save around $20 a day being right on top of the mountain.

4 day trip you’re easily looking at saving over $1,000.

Not to mention the extra awesomeness visiting a club skifield brings. And we’ve visited every single South Island skifield, yet this is still a favourite of the kids.

Is Hanmer on your to-visit list?
