Kaikoura Community Op Shop

We love supporting the Kaikoura Volunteer Fire Brigade 🙂

Earlier this year, thanks to a very generous donation from The Op Shop, the Kaikōura Fire Brigade was finally able to recruit two new “members” — rescue dummies for training purposes.
We invited the people of Kaikōura to help us name our new team mates, and we are proud to introduce them officially.
The smaller 70kg dummy will be known as “Bud”. Bud O’Connor served the Brigade for an incredible 69 years in a variety of roles, and he was both delighted and honoured when his name was suggested.
The larger 90kg dummy will answer to “Mr Burns” — mainly because after carrying him around a few times, that’s exactly what the firefighters legs and arms feel like!
As a Brigade, we greatly appreciate the continued support of our community and The Op Shop.

This week we are doing a bit of maintenance in our working spaces out the back so it would awesomely helpful if you could hold your treasured donations until next week 11th May.
The space being used does not include Clothing and Shoes so please keep ‘em coming!!

Due to our remembrance of ANZAC day, the Op Shop will be closed Saturday (tomorrow) 25th April and open Monday 27th 10am - 2pm.

Kiaora whanau! Sorry to say the Op Shop is closing for the rest of today Monday 20th April due to the power outage.

We have a new friend at the Op Shop, who is only with us for a short while. This friend is on loan to us from the Kaikōura Fire Brigade and is one of the two new training buddies the Op Shop fundraised for.

The thing is though, this new friend needs a name.

So if you're popping in be sure to pop down a name suggestion for the Fire Brigade to consider.

BUT WAIT THERES MORE!!
For any Hot Wheels enthusiasts out there , we have all sorts of random bits and pieces!!! Come and pick through it, give us a Koha for cleaning it up and rehome at yours!!
(Otherwise sadly, land fill awaits 😭😭😭)
