I used to work in fast fashion.

Working in that world I saw first hand the volume of clothing that is wasted and the way in which fast fashion operates. I decided I couldn’t be a part of it any longer- so I left.

I left to start this crazy adventure called Billie Zinzan. A business built on values I can be proud of, ones that were held closely by the namesake of the label, my great-grandmother.

She came from a time where clothing was made with care and intention, when there was a relationship between maker and wearer and pieces were made to fit.

With Christmas coming around the corner just next weekend (🤯) I’ve been thinking about clothing that has been gifted to me in the past, and more importantly where it has ended up. I’ll be honest, not much is still in my wardrobe!

So if you’re giving clothing this Christmas- make sure it’s something that they want, need and love so it’s cherished for years to come! Otherwise think about giving a gift voucher to a local label (like the ones available at Billie Zinzan 😉) so that they can get a special piece made just for them. Clothing with stories and connections attached are always loved longer.

Golden hour in the blood orange Francesca dress. The perfect day-to-night t-shirt dress and I can tell you, I feel DAMN good when wearing this one! Not only is she ridiculously comfy- you can adjust the sleeves and bodice to have more/ less skin. Winning.

Took the Lulu dress out for a twirl yesterday. She is absolutely MADE for events in the sunshine with her bright citrus hue in gossamer cotton lawn and cascading ruffles. The Lulu dress is available now for pre-order, dropping beginning of December.
