Dropping the Piper Super Cub onto a snow-covered backcountry strip here in New Zealand. Days like this are exactly why I love flying this aircraft — getting into places that make you stop, look around and realise just how lucky we are to fly here. 🇳🇿

Backcountry flying is all adventure… until something goes wrong.

One thing I never fly without in remote areas is a survival vest.
Not because I expect to crash — but because if the worst happens, seconds matter.

Two of the main items in my kit:
• Tourniquet
• Compression bandage (Israeli Bandage)

In remote country, help could be hours away. Having critical medical gear on you instead of packed in the back of the aircraft can make all the difference.

A survival vest isn’t about fear.
