Water Pigs NZ And then there's Ozzy and Easy Pour etc

At Water Pigs NZ I design and make useful gadgets, the first of which was the Water Pig (Poaka Wai) which is a range of hands free water fillers to suit many makes and models of Caravans and Motorhomes.

A new Water Pig has entered the world and joined the ranks of all things piggy 🐷 πŸ˜ƒ

This new piggy became a reality because someone asked if I had one to suit the screw cap filler on his American Caravan. With his help we determined the size and thread being used so that I could then design and make one.

It fits the Camec 35mm screw type filler (and maybe others) and is the first screw type I have made.

If interested please let me know. Some real life field testing soon to be done but looks great πŸ˜ƒ

Been a bit busy of late with construction project in Taumarunui and neglecting my piggy projects but in regards to my Thule Omnivent replacement grill I managed to source some very nice off white filament from China as could not find any locally. Is a nice match to the original colour. I also have the grills listed on trademe at $40 for cream and $30 for silver or pearl or plain white as it appears people only really want the cream and have to charge more as filament more expensive due to shipping from China. It is possible to paint the grills by giving a light sand, a wipe down with meths and then aerosol spray of undercoat and topcoats. If anyone interested in a grill please message me or email [email protected]. Cream one shown in the image 😊

So a year or so ago I did a post about a simple roof to room ventilation setup. It was based around an Arduino microprocessor doing the control. It has been installed and not given any problems so thought I would do a MKII - simpler version that just uses a couple of Temperature controlled relays I sourced from Aliexpress. Overall it contains a 150mm fan unit, 6m of insulated ducting, a ceiling diffuser, 2 x temp relays and NTC thermistors and a 12v power adapter. The switching temps have been set to about 21 degrees. Overall cost about $150. More info in the pics...

Getting some of the finer points of the Omnivent replacement grill sorted; thanks so much to my early purchasers and have now listed it on trademe. Would be great to put on the NZMCA Wings page but not allowed to self promote on there so will use other groups instead as apparently these grills as used extensively in UK caravans and motorhomes and would be good to let people know there is a locally made option available....

Anyway - this is a Silver rendition and have ordered some less creamy filament from Alibaba as can't find any in NZ so will let you know how that goes :-)

It's been a busy weekend getting a "cream" version of my Omnivent replacement printed. Quite a deep cream. The only cream colour I could find in NZ but think it works quite well with the plastic surround... The white one shows the recess and holes for speed and temp control k***s and the cream for those without so it important if you would like one of these to let me know which type (and colour). I'll be in touch with those of you who have asked for one to sort out supply 😊

This post relates to my "Double Cut" cutting disk to fit the Ozito battery powered edge trimmer. I had a couple of people experience breakage so have made a new version which is stronger and will hopefully solve the issue. There is an issue with the Omnivent extractor fans in that after a while the molded plastic grill deteriorates and breaks and replacements not available, only the entire vent so have been thinking about making a replacement. If anyone might want one let me know so I can determine if worth the effort :-) Envisage my replacement would look like the image attached. Ans also is a picture of an original vent - if you look closely you can see the plastic grill parts breaking away...

It's interesting creating a gadget that works really well and people that use it can't say enough about how much money they save and how much it helps them and yet they are are really hard to sell (even at $5) hence this little promotional video and post. Introducing the "Easy Pour" (again) one of my little inventions that simply dispenses 15ml of Dishwasher powder at a time. It is designed to screw onto the standard 2L type powder containers that Finish and other brands come in and each time it is tipped it will dispense just 15ml into the dishwasher hopper. Anyways if interested let me know and if nothing else hope you enjoy the music πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ https://youtu.be/BhkdaFcCz90
