The last 6months have been busy, busy, busy!!! Will share what I've been doing as soon as the professional photos come in... but in the meantime here is a little sneak peek of my current project.
I love how versatile the Overlocker is... rolled hem and then gathers 😍😍😍 makes life easy.

Practicing some hand stitched button holes for a current project.
Never done these before and am quite pleased with how they are turning out. Bottom one was my first attempt... top one so much better.

A huge part of my experience has been in costuming. Many school productions as well as a multitude of years sewing costumes for the supporting dancers and performers in Wearable Art shows here in Nelson.
I also made this Mascot for the Nelson Bays Rugby Union before they became the Mako.

From the Sheet to the Street Challenge!!! Fashion Island Nelson Holiday Challenge, September 2010.

Take one sheet, embellish it, dye it, paint it and turn it into an outfit for the the Runway.

I used a costume corset pattern, lengthened it, then created a cutaway, freestyle lace edging using 5km of white thread!!!
Its fully lined with an invisible zip, all the seams are flat felled.

Received second placing for this outfit! Pretty proud of this piece of work.

Graduate collection 1999
Diploma in Fashion and Textiles Nelson Polytechnic.
Based on the allegory of women, beautiful but dangerous, inspired by the Pre-Raphaelite movement and
King Arthur's romantic period.

The fabric for the Jersey was created on a domestic knitting machine, with beaded edges.
I made the patterns for each piece and then did all the sewing myself.

Made these beauties from scrap fabrics and recycled jewellery to complete the table decorations for my own wedding... got a bit obsessed and made around 500 of them... but I loved them 😍🌹💐
Besides where else wasi going to get red and black roses in the middle of winter!!!
