Mātua Pēpē sewing class.

Learn to make a fabric balloon ball.

Parents/caregivers - come along with your pre-mobile baby and learn to sew a fabric balloon ball.

No pressure,go at your own pace and dip in and out whenever your baby needs you.

Mātua Pēpē Sewing class

A sewing class for parent and baby.
Learn some new skills and make something to take home for your baby.

The class is taught in a flexible and relaxed way, meaning you and your baby can come along together. Tend to your baby when they need you and hop back into the lesson when you're ready - no pressure.

Please note: the class is suitable for pre-mobile babies only at this stage.

One of my students came into class yesterday with a gift ... a lego figure she'd made for me when she was away.
She gave me the most awesome pink sparkly hair, a huge smile and a red squirrel. I'd told her in a lesson 3 years ago that I loved red squirrels and it's never come up in converstaion since but she remembered... 🥹❤️

Mātua Pēpē Sewing class💕

There's no denying babies are cute! 😍

But finding time to do anything else other than look after your little bundle of cuteness can be tricky!

Mātua Pēpē sessions are for those parents and carers who want to come and learn something new, be creative but do it with their baby.

The session is taught in a flexible and supportive way so you can pause and stop if your baby needs you. No pressure.

Just having a flick through my kids magazine whilst having a cuppa and discovered these great inventions for helping to prevent as much microplastics seeping into our water ways and oceans when we wash our synthetic clothes.

It's estimated around 70% of our clothing is made from synthetic fibres; things like polyester, nylon, lycra etc.

When we wash these fabrics, they shed teeny tiny microplastics. These fantastic inventions help tackle some of the problem

Others ways you can help are:

👕 Wait until you have a full load before washing - there's less agitation between clothes.

💦❄️Wash with cold water - heat breaks down fabrics easier

🌬 Hang your clothes out to dry - tumble dryers weaken fabrics causing them to shed more microplastics

❤️. When you do need to replace clothes consider what they are made from. Natural fabrics break down in the soil - synthetic ones don't.
