We had the privilege of screening our film at the 21st Wairoa Māori Film Festival this long weekend. So beautiful and special being part of this intimate kaupapa. It was such a welcoming space with some incredible films from other indigenous people around Aotearoa and the world. So lucky to cosy up on the marae for the weekend to manaaki and talk art ❤️❤️❤️ ngā mihi

One year since A Love Letter to Te Wairoa ❤️ such a special shoot that I feel incredibly grateful for, especially grateful for the people who made it so magic. Unfortunately, Matua Hanham passed away last year. Moe mai rā e hoa, grateful to have these memories and to have shared a small part of his story. ❤️

Introducing a new body of work, wall-based textile works.

Most are made from completely homespun yarn, spun in Te Māhia. Some have homespun wool dyed with the whenua: pōhutukawa, kawakawa, harakeke and wharariki. Others bring in cotton and linen. Exploring motif, material, and how these works live within a space.

This is a space I’ve been wanting to move into for a while, shaped by the spinners and weavers I’ve been learning from in Māhia.

So grateful for the kōrero awhi so far, thank you ###
