Senior Sourcing Manager (Fixed-Term – 6 Months)

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Sourcing Manager to join a well-established apparel and textiles business on a six-month fixed-term contract.
This role has been created to support a significant sourcing realignment project focused on strengthening the supplier network, identifying new factories and textile mills, improving commercial performance, and building a more resilient long-term sourcing strategy.
About the Role
You will be responsible for identifying and evaluating new sourcing partners across factories and textile mills, ensuring they align with business requirements for quality, compliance, capability, capacity, lead times and commercial performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting a sourcing realignment programme by identifying gaps, opportunities and new supplier solutions.
Assessing and evaluating factories and mills for capability, capacity, compliance and cost competitiveness.
Building strong commercial cases and recommendations to support sourcing decisions.
Leading supplier negotiations including pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities and commercial terms.
Supporting supplier onboarding and implementation across cross-functional teams.
Working directly with mills on fabric development, costing, lab dips, sampling and approvals.
Analysing landed costs, margin opportunities and supplier performance.
Identifying both immediate and long-term sourcing improvements that strengthen supply chain resilience.
Collaborating closely with sourcing, production, product development and leadership teams throughout the project.
About You
You are an experienced sourcing professional with a strong background in apparel, textiles, production or global supply chain management.
You bring strong commercial judgement, excellent supplier management skills and the ability to quickly assess opportunities and deliver practical solutions.
You will ideally have:
7+ years’ experience in sourcing, production, supply chain or vendor management.
Strong experience working directly with offshore factories and textile mills.
Experience evaluating supplier capability, compliance, quality and cost structures.
Strong analytical skills and confidence working with commercial data and margin analysis.
Experience stepping into change environments and delivering results quickly.
Must have the rights to work in NZ.
