Today, on Father’s Day, I thought I’d share this video of Dad and me from the Christchurch Show last year a little snippet into why we love wool and how Eweburn Creek came to be.
Back in 2023, I went out for lunch with Mum and Dad and told them I wanted to start my own knitwear label using wool from our farm. They listened to all my ideas, and not long after, I got a text from Mum saying, “Dad thinks you should call it Eweburn Creek.”
And that was that. Eweburn Creek was born.
Dad’s connection to wool goes back a long way. At 16, he started out in the shearing shed as a rousey before later becoming a shearer. Today, he’s a farmer who puts so much care into his stock and the wool they grow something that has become a huge part of what Eweburn Creek is all about.
He’s also not too bad to have around at a market when there’s a tent to put up!
Happy Father’s Day, Dad. Thanks for always backing my ideas, helping behind the scenes and being part of the Eweburn Creek story.
