OMG, I've totally been getting PTSD after breaking my last industrial sewing needle a few weeks ago. Not being able to run my favorite "War Machine" has been burning my up inside...

Finally got off my arse and did the journey to one of the region's slowly dwindling, geriatric service and repair guys. To the dusty, cobwebbed shop with his decades-old, sunbleached window displays... *sigh*

Quick little single-afternoon jobbie...

The AK47 is from an ex-girlfriends old tights and the detail on the 40oz back pocket is from a UV protection neck mask. Both of the floral panels are from old dress shirts

Still got a couple of unattached panels I might add later...

Tight as f**k though, it's like wearing a bra on my calves...

Creative juices are a-cranking and the next project is beginning to congeal and take form...

Got a whole collection to build for an exhibition early next year (more details to come on that front)...

Completed a couple of "Reggie" pieces recently, but not having come up in the digital generation, I habitually forget to take progress shots.

Self promotion is strange and still something to fool around with, just another part of the constant tinkering with my creative process (or often, lack thereof...)...

I've got an old tailored hoodie pattern I'm adapting and a new 5-thread overlocker to sew knit-fabric with so we'll hopefully be churning out some hoodlum-wear, once I can afford enough polycore cotton thread to string it up...

Despite numerous challenges in life currently to be navigated, moving towards the long-held dream of making my own brand of chaotic textile-art and sharing it with folks is definitely playing an important part of keeping me in the game...

The "Spatchcock" method (opening up the inseam) is paying dividends in saved energy and stress.

So much easier working the jeans on the industrial sewing machine as a flat object and not a scrunched-up, multi-layered, confusing mess...

These are gonna look f**kin' badass-as-hell when they're done!

It's totally a vibe, I f**king love this s**t! 🖤

Getting more of a clear picture of their composition once they go onto the jeans, as my recent experiment in the design process only had me draw up the patches not an overall layout...

Gonna "spatchcock" them donor-jeans the whole way from hem to hem up the inseam and start attaching this composition over the next few days...

Revisiting this old project for a much needed update. Interesting how much your priority design considerations over a few years. Working by a totally different set of rules these days...

- Adding a selection of printed patches, mostly white ink on black fabric.
- Removing, redesigning and redoing patch pockets.
- Additional belt loops
- Replacing hip pocket-bags
(pockets on women's jeans mostly suck, who designs this crap? I can even fit three knuckles in these...)
