We named our store after the legendary music studio in Jamaica 'STUDIO ONE'. I grew up surrounded by Reggae music so it was only natural I combined my love of Roots with the store. Little story...

I previously owned a barber shop prior to the first lockdown. During lockdown we lost our clientele and Barbers. I also had to cancel all my tour dates and shows as I was a full time touring musician while running the admin side of the barber shop remotely. The shop was called 'Kings Fades Barbers' located in Upper Hutt. After we came out of lockdown I tried my best to find a reliable barber to no avail. So I was out of music tour work and barber work also. So while I figured things out I actually turned my store into an exclusive art gallery showcasing some of NZs finest Art. I then came up with the idea to start a retail store selling dope clothes and exclusive kicks! I didnt have a big budget so I brought cheaps racks from the warehouse, put my own clothes and kicks up for sale and opened the doors not knowing what was to come. I put all my eggs in one basket and put all my money in. I marketed the s**t out of the store and quickly grew so fast that we opened a 2nd store on Cuba and things just kept growning and now im on the cusp of another big venture which we will reveal very soon. We then closed the UH store where it all started as I needed my time back as Im starting this new venture and also slowly getting back to touring shows. Now we have built the Studio One Store into an authentic experience and is thriving beyond measure! We have grown and also helped other consignors and labesl make s**t loads of money and start their own ventures and level up!

If you have a true passion and an entrepreneurial spirit then I encourage you to go all in and push all your chips into the middle and bet in yourself! Open that shop, start that online business, buy those stocks or NFT, create the next big buzz, design that new thing that may change the world!! What ever it is... just do it! Use me as an example... coz if I can achieve this then you can also!!👊
