The BASENZ crew live, work and play in Wanaka. Passionate about freeride and freestyle skiing and snowboarding, we are out in the mountains that surround us riding every day.

We want to Introduce you to the Wānaka Store Manager, Millie!

Millie is a true local born and raised and she's been the fearless leader managing Base NZ Wānaka for the last 7 years 🌞

She's stuck around because of the epic summers at the lake, snow on the doorstep, good people and that drive into town that never gets old. iykyk

Skiing since the age of 5 at Cardrona, she quickly graduated from the slopes to lunch trays down the hill above TC Café; a true Wānaka rite of passage.
When she's not keeping the store in order you'll find her chasing summer, at après, or margarita in hand 🍹

WINTER 2026 WE ARE READY FOR YOU!

"Who we are" - This is a presentation we do before every winter season to educate our crew about the businesses they are employed by and to share our core values, expectations and give our staff a chance to all meet each other and hang out for an evening 🔥

We are stoked to be heading into the 2026 Winter with a significant number of returning crew from last season as well as a bunch of new faces joining us!

It wouldn't be right to finish some staff training without a round of fireball shot skis to help our team bond 🍻😈

Meet Annie, one of the familiar faces you'll find at Base NZ Wānaka!
🎿 Originally from a small village near Bath in the UK, it was Cardrona's terrain park that first lured her here, then Treble Cone's freeride scene did the rest.
Almost a year in and we reckon she's not going anywhere!
Skiing since the age of two, she famously dodged ski school in Saint Anton in favour of following her brother down whatever gnarly line he could find.
When she's not on the hill you'll find her mountain biking, climbing at Hospital Flat, or surfing the river wave. Come in and say hello! ⛷️🔥
