This quilt has such a sweet story behind it! My friend came to me and said she wanted to make a small quilt, using fabrics she had used to make clothes for both her children, and children that are special to her. She estimated she would find about 30 fabrics.

However once she started looking through her fabrics, she found not 30, but 72 fabrics. 72 fabrics she had used to make clothes for so many children in her life. I was so honoured to help make a keepsake so she can see and cherish all these memories!

This monster quilt has 8 rows by 9 rows of squares of fabric. Everything from the layout, to the border colour, to the backing fabric is custom and chosen by her.

This was a special one. (novel ahead sorry!) Harriet is my close friends daughter, who was due just 6 weeks apart from my youngest baby Bradley. We have seen her pretty much daily her whole life, and these two have quite literally grown up together!

I knew I wanted to make something special for this wee girls first birthday, but she already has a very talented quilting Nana, so had no need for a full sized quilt.

Her nursery has a gorgeous native bird theme, so when I saw the native themed fabric by designer Jocelyn Proust, I knew what I could make; a doll sized quilt, with a square of each of the beautiful fabrics in her selection, surrounding a paper pieced Tui which I designed. It was the tiniest paper piecing I have done and it was so fiddly and difficult! But I am so happy with the result.

I love you wee Harry girl, happy birthday! I hope you can get lots of use out of your new doll quilt ❤️

My latest project! This is Captain Howdy, a character from the Exorcist. Created using Foundation paper piecing. My largest paper pieced project by far, measuring 2m x 1m!

Foundation paper piecing! A method of sewing where you use a printed pattern to make incredibly detailed designs.

When I finished my quilts for my children, I was at a bit of a loss for what to do. I saw a post of a foundation paper pieced picture of a dog. I was so excited at the idea of making something that looked so realistic!
After that I was hooked, pushing myself to do the very detailed patterns I found online, and then eventually to make my own patterns on the computer.
I love this method of sewing, and can't wait to do more!

Last year I had the utter priveledge of making this quilt! Made with clothes of beloved grandparents no longer with us. It was so special being trusted with such precious memories, and it was amazing to be able to turn a box of clothes into a keepsake that can be cherished forever.

Memory quilts don't have to just be made from baby clothes, I can make these from any precious items!

Thanks to everyone for following this page!
For those that are new here, my name is Hannah, and I am a stay at home mum of two kiddies, Lydia and Bradley 🥰

I started quilting during lockdown, making memory quilts with my kids baby clothes. I've since started doing paper piecing, which is a method of quilting using a printed pattern that allows you to make intricate designs.
I have absolutely loved challenging myself to learn new skills, here is a sneak peak of a few of the things I've been working on ❤️

Happy New Years! Sorry I've been a bit quiet on here, I've been busy finishing off Christmas orders, and then a had a holiday over Christmas ❤️ But I'm back at it, working on a really fun piece that I can't wait to share! 2021 was a roller-coaster, but one of the things I'm most proud of was starting this page. I've had so much fun sewing things, and can't wait to see what's to come in 2022!
