It’s that time of year again, Design Industry Night is coming up in two weeks!

We will be having guests across the different Design Innovation Majors coming in to talk about their projects and personal experiences. Take this opportunity to come along and ask industry professionals any questions and stay afterwards to network with them.

Here are the rest of the speakers.

Matthew Reid is a Senior Associate at Warren and Mahoney and an Interior Design lead in their Wellington studio. He has experienced a strong body of commercial interior work from public to private sectors, publicly accessible to highly secure with clients such as ANZ, Precinct, Generator, PwC, Microsoft, MFAT, MBIE and MoD. He has also recently won the ‘Emerging Design Professional’ award at the 2025 interior awards.

Kris Herman is an NZILA registered landscape architecture, currently practising with the Local Landscape Architecture Collective and teaching as a Fellow VUW. His work spans both academia and professional practice, with a focus on landscape design, community engagement, and tactical urbanism.

Henry McIntyre is an Assistant Project Manager at The Building Intelligence Group. He recently graduated majoring in Project Management and Sustainable Engineering Systems. Henry is the inaugural recipient of the TBIG Keystone Trust School Leaver Scholarship.

William Mason is an Architectural Graduate at McKenzie Higham Architects with 3 years of experience as a structural drafter at Holmes ANZ and 2 years as BIM Technician/Drafter at L T McGuinness.

Callum McKenzie is a Founding Director at McKenzie Higham Architecture. He has spent his whole career in Wellington, specialising in education projects.

Architecture industry night is tomorrow! Here are some speakers we have lined up.

Tessa Leonard is an Associate and Design Team Leader at Catalyst Group with 20+ years of experience in the industry, focusing on workplace strategy and design. She has lead projects across New Zealand and was the lead designer on the award winning 10 floor seismic refurbishment and 5 GreenStar project on 22 The Terrace.

James De Bono is an Intermediate Designer at Catalyst Group with a Masters in Interior Architecture. He leads national projects including gym and wellness spaces, and commercial offices across the crountry. James has great technical knowledge with a passion for 3D visualisation, VR and rendering.

Alan McCorkindale is an Associate Principal ay Jasmax with over 10 years’ commercial and hospitality experience and a portfolio of award-winning projects across the Asia Pacific region. Alan specialises in workplace design, bringing passion for human-centered spaces that inspire, tell stories and create a positive impact on people’s day-to-day lives.

Tim Cook is an Associate Landscape Architect at Isthmus with extensive professional experience across Aotearoa, Australia, and the United Kingdom. With expertise in design leadership and project delivery, Tim guides projects from conceptualisation to construction, creating authentic and meaningful design responses.

Dan Milward is Chief Executive and Co-Founder of Gamefroot, on online software used by millions of kids around the world to learn Game Design. With many works

Paul Stevenson is a VUW Graduate, majoring in Industrial and Product Design, and has been with Formway 14 years now, currently as a Lead Designer. He has worked on a range of seat projects covering residential and commercial, with international awards in both categories.

Chloe Akerblom is an associate product designer at Xero. Graduated from VUW majoring in Interaction Design with a minor in Industrial and Media Design, Chloe went into Xero’s graduate program straight from University.

Andy Binns is the founder of Hype Entertainment and a visual artist that loves to turn ideas into immersive experiences. He is always experimenting with projection mapping and interactive tech to create one-of-a-kind installations. Founded Hype Entertainment in 2011 with a team of good vibe, creative perfectionists that push the boundaries.

Rhueben Meredith is a designer and partner at Ocean Design, a Wellington-based brand studio known for its work supporting a modern Aotearoa. He brings a background in human-centred design and plays a key role in shaping brand strategy, narrative, and visual identity for purpose-driven organisations. He has worked across a wide range of mahi from national health brands like Awanui Labs and Stroke Foundation Aotearoa to local favourites like Puku Pies & Kai.

Stephen Reid is on a mission to transform the way brands are formed and function to help create a far more inclusive world. As Founder and Strategy/Creative Director of Ramp, he leads a creative consultancy based in Wellington dedicated to enabling people, culture, and business through the power of inclusive design. Stephen has been involved in the Education, Health, Energy, Agriculture, Transport, and Technology sectors with one of his previous projects being to create the visual identity for the worlds first Ministry of Disabled People - Whaikaha.
