Top Draw Lingerie Boutique supports women in the community

Top Draw Lingerie Boutique, owned and operated by Paula Wade, is a mainstay business on Victoria Ave, having opened its doors to customers in 2001. Paula loves helping women in our region discovering their inner shine and to feel comfortable and confident in undergarments, nightwear and swimwear. In 2001, Paula added another string to her bow, becoming a Corsetiere, and in 2014, Paula went into breast care for cancer clients.

Paula explains her breast care role, saying, “It’s a really rewarding role, I enjoy working one-on-one with my clients. Cancer clients receive a grant from the Ministry of Health, that is if ladies have had a lumpectomy or mastectomy. At the time of surgery they have a lot going on, it’s emotional for them, therefore they might forget that they qualify for a grant.”

If ladies have had breast surgery and haven’t used their grant, go and see Paula, she will help you through the process and register you with the Ministry of Health.
“Each woman qualifies for $613.33 four yearly. It renews every four years. A lot of ladies forget that it renews. So, if unsure regarding any type of breast surgery, come and see me.”

Paula enjoys seeing women get their confidence back and is humbled to be part of their healing journey.

The breast care service can include, modification of regular bras, special and surgical bras, breast prosthesis, which includes standard breast forms, swim form, foam filler, shell prosthesis and lumpectomy shells. It’s a local service, and Paula prides herself on making a difference.

Top Draw is well stocked, if Paula doesn’t have what you want, items can be ordered in for clients.

Paula also points out that statistically about 80 percent of women are wearing the wrong bra size [Paula believes it’s more like 90%] she works with women to ensure that they are fitted correctly. It’s all about women feeling comfortable and confident regardless of whether you have had surgery or not.
