Going back to the old Pipe Loom to create a sample for a much bigger project. Threading, sleying, tying on, positioning the warp and the beginning of the sample.

I showed how to cut the warp without a lot of waste at Whangārei Weavers.
It soon became clear that I was not the only one finding it too wasteful to do a second conventional tying up. Such a second tying up requires a substantial amount of the warp length and is then not available for the actual work. The method shown in this clip results in about 6 centimeters of waste. All up this is quicker than tying up the conventional way and there is no concern about the warp tension not being right when all is done.
